Yes, you will be covered for medical expenses only in case you are infected with Covid-19 while travelling outside Kenya
- If I’m diagnosed with COVID-19, Could I be covered for Trip Cancellation?
No, the covid-19 cover is limited to Medical Expenses only under the benefit “Medical Expenses and hospitalization abroad”
5 Will I be able to access health care while I am travelling?
Yes, you will need to contact the Assistance Service team on WhatsApp, phone call or email and you will be assisted immediately within shortest time possible.

6 If I am already abroad, Am I covered for COVID-19 related expenses under my Cover?
The travel cover can only be purchased before one travel from the county of residence. If you have a valid cover which was purchased after inclusion of the covid-19 benefit, you’re covered.
7 If I have already left on my trip and the country, I am travelling to has been declared a Do NOT Travel Region-What do I do?
The cover for Covid-19 will not be applicable.
If you want to Cancel or Change your policy?
- How do I cancel my policy?
You must send an email to travel@gakenya.com stating the reason for policy cancellation. This must be done before the cover is effective. Policies that have already taken effect or lapsed cannot be cancelled.
- I would like to cancel my policy and get a refund since I will not be travelling.
Yes, you can. But this must be done before the cover is effective. Policies that have already taken effect or lapsed cannot be cancelled.
- If I have policy but I’m yet to travel and want to change my dates-How Can I do it? Yes, you can change the dates of travel as long as the policy has not taken effect. Policies that have already started cannot be amended or cancelled. Email travel@gakenya.com with the new travel dates.
